Runners can choose to stay in our luxury glamping tents right at the heart of the event village, enjoying the full race atmosphere, festivities and campfire experience. For those who prefer a more traditional stay, we also offer Guest House accommodation options nearby.

Runners will enjoy breathtaking routes that showcase the very best of the Karoo. Each day combines a mixture of flowing trails, scenic farm roads, and spectacular mountain views, with sections of the route passing through private land that is only accessible during the event, creating a truly unique experience.

SUPPORT

Staffed water points along the route will keep you fuelled with everything from refreshing water, cola and coffee to delicious warm pancakes, date balls and other tasty treats. Each water point is fully stocked and manned by enthusiastic staff, where you can refuel, recharge, and enjoy a well-earned break before continuing your journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Organising such an event has many challenges and can’t be left to the last minute. The refund policy schedule is based on certain suppliers that have been paid leading up to the preparation of the event.

Every aspect of the event is meticulously planned and synchronised with suppliers, partners, medical staff , entertainers, photographers, catering staff and assistants who need time to adapt to date not even taking in account the financial aspect, whereas most of these parties have been paid in advance to ensure their services. Without these key people and planning we cannot host a safe and enjoyable event.

  • All substitutions made are charged at R250 per runner.
  • Refunds up to 90 days prior to the event will be refunded at 75% of entry fee.
  • Refunds up to 60 days prior to the event will be refunded at 50% of entry fee.
  • No refunds 60 days or less before the event date.
  • Entries are transferable until 14 days prior to the event. (If you do a substitution your substituted participant will receive the merchandise size that was selected on your original entry)

*Entries can’t be transferred to the following year.
*No Exceptions including medical conditions and infectious diseases.

When clicking on the installment plan option, 30% of your total entry amount will be due immediately to secure your entry. The remainder of your outstanding amount will be debited over two installments.
Please make sure that your entry payments are up to date. You will have 7 days to make your payment after the due date. If you miss a payment you will forfeit your entry.
All payments must be completed at least 30 days before the event date.

Absolutely! With no cut-off times, walkers are warmly welcome to enjoy The Owl Route’s spectacular trails at their own pace. Whether you’re running, or simply taking in the scenery, you’re free to experience the route in a way that suits you best.

Yes!!! Cheers to that! You’ll get to enjoy complimentary beer, wine, gin and more for the duration of the weekend!

Our meals are lovingly prepared and sourced by the local community, which means catering for individual dietary requirements can be challenging. Should you have any specific dietary needs or allergies, please inform us at least 4 weeks prior to the event so that we can do our best to accommodate you. Yes, companions are more than welcome. They can share your Luxury Tent or Guest House accommodation and enjoy the full event experience alongside you. The fee for a non-runner companion sharing is R8,450 per person, which includes accommodation, meals, and access to the event atmosphere. Please note that a maximum of two people may share. 

Yes, but only 40 days before the event. Thereafter clothing orders are placed and no changes can be made.
Clothing sizes are selected during the online entry process before checking out and paying.
Please note that the new substituted participant will receive the clothing size of the initial outgoing participant unless this is changed 40 days before the event.

Our routes are very well marked but you’re welcome to ride with a GPS as we have route maps to download.

No, all Glamping Tents have quality white linen in a comfortable and luxurious tent with tasteful furniture and attention to detail.

It’s always a good idea to have your medical aid card with you. Although signal is not always available, it is wise to take your phone with you.
